FREE MOT History Print Out

MOT's are a legal requirement when you own a car over 3 years old, but until now if you lost that pesky piece of paper with any advisories on you had to pay to print it out.

The DVSA has now launched a new service that means you can print your MOT certificate at home, all you need is your reg and V5C.

How Much Will It Save?

In 2018 more than 630,000 MOT certificates were issued at a cost of £10 each, this system update could, therefore, save UK drivers over £6 million a year.

The system is currently live and allows motorists to view, save and print any car, van or motorcycle MOT certificate issued after 20th May 2018.

In order to access the system just head to the DVSA site and enter your car's registration number and the 11 digit reference number from your V5C logbook.

Why Do You Need An MOT Certificate?

If you want to tax your vehicle at the post office or change your cars tax class, for example not having to pay tax if you're a driver with a disability or changing your car's engine size.

You might also want to include your MOT certificate when you come to sell your car. It isn't necessary but many buyers would prefer to see it.
